The Baby Boomer Guide to Retirement is written by James P. Ruth. Jim retired in 2014 from Potomac Financial Consultants, LLC after a financial planning career spanning over 4 decades. He is a nationally recognized speaker and author and was an active member of the Washington, D.C. area financial services community.
He is a graduate of the University of Maryland and has completed two years of post-graduate studies at the American College achieving certification as a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). He also held the Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) designation granted by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils and was licensed as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) up until his retirement.
A prolific writer, Jim has authored nearly 200 articles in newspapers and consumer magazines as well as business and professional journals. He has also written or been interviewed or quoted for articles appearing in the Washington Post, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, USA Today, U.S. News & World Report, AP Radio and others.
