Punkin Chunkin
In 2019, for the first time ever, the famed World Championship Punkin Chunkin had to go on the road. The village of Rantoul, Illinois hosted the event providing exceptional hospitality to all the teams and volunteers. The goal for 2020 and beyond is to bring the Punkin Chunkin back home to Delaware.
For that to happen, they need to find the right property and solve some nagging liability issues. Finding the right property is not as easy as you might think. That's because air cannons can fire pumpkins nearly one mile, so 600+ acres of land is required. Whenever and wherever it re-emerges, PC officials will presumably maintain their "No BYO Alcohol" policy. However, alcohol will probably be available for sale on site. If you’re looking for an original and authentic Delaware event, don’t miss its proposed reincarnation. Check their website for details. punkinchunkin.com
